Interest in our blog has really picked up in the last 2 weeks and especially from Thailand. We thought it would be a good idea to post a brief resumé of just a what an unpleasant little conman the "Marketing Director" of Layan Hills Estate is.

You can find more detailed information throughout the pages of this blog of course, but the basics are this :

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) refused to pay his employees, suppliers and contractors for periods from 3 -10 months across 2008. These were honest workers who had done what was asked of them. They have families that they were unable to feed as a consequence

+ To avoid paying the money Michael (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) owed these people he faked an armed robbery whilst he was "conducting a deal" in Madrid involving a suitcase of money. There are no police records to corroborate this

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) systematically took money for works from clients in Spain, then invented excuses about these works being help up at the Malaga College of Architects thereby preventing him from undertaking what he had been paid for. In most cases he had not even submitted the plans for approval

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) consistently lied to advertisers in Modern Design Magazine about the print run - he told advertisers they were paying for 20,000 printed copies and tens of thousands of downloaded copies each edition. The reality was 10,000 printed copies and a few thousand downloaded copies each month

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) withheld Social Security payments for all his emplyees that he was obliged to pay by law. This resulted in Michael's pocket swelling whilst his employees lost their rights to the Social Security system in Spain

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) refused to make any of employees redundant from his bankrupt farce of a company, meaning they were unable to sign onto the dole in a desperate attempt to feed their famililes

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) took Sidekick Trish on a luxury holiday to Morocco whilst his employees went months without wages. They ingeniously posted their holiday snaps on Facebook, then tried to claim they were belated pictures (by exactly 1 year) when they got found out

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) conned investors into parting with millions of euros to fund countless fruitless business trips to Dubai. His invesotrs lost every penny funding Mike's fantasy lifestyle

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) has subsequently been found guilty of over 50 counts of embezzlement and Social Security fraud by the Spanish courts. These verdicts are all publicly available online.

+ Currently Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) owes approx. €2.5m to everybody who has ever had anything to do with him whatsoever

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) fled Spain to Thailand where he conned investors from UPL into backing his new company. Surprise surprise, Michael and Trish lived extravagant lifestyles whilst their employees and investors were owed money

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) is using copywrited materials from people to whom he owes significant sums of money to begin re-printing Modern Design Magazine in Thailand. Based on quotes we received from his printers, he is pulling the same old stunt there of claiming 10,000 printed copies but only distributing 5,000

+ Michael Earle (Marketing Director of Layan Hills Estate) has since been sacked from Modern Zen Architects and has resurfaced as an Estate Agent for Layan Hills Estate
